Hi All,
Though there are likely less than zero people viewing this website, I thought I'd post a bit to keep everyone entertained and explain what I've been up to.
I spent the summer working for Lexel Imaging. I worked as part of their DVST line of products and was trying to decipher how to improve a technology that was first developed in the 1960s. It was a lot of fun and I greatly enjoyed working with all the wonderful people there.
I didn't actually take any days off between completing the spring semester at EKU and starting at Lexel. Likewise, I didn't take any days off between finishing at Lexel and starting at University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.
This was the first week and it consisted of a review of Physiology and pre-enrollment activities. So far it's been very cool and very interesting. It's all starting to sink in that the next few years of my life are going to be spent in a pressure cooker with 56 other insane people. It's just that most of them are a decade younger than me. That's ok because I've been on both sides of the podium and I know more about how "things" work. I think it also helps that I'm not an ass.
Several of them have gone out this week and that's a bit much for me. I want to be focused when I show up for things now. I hoping to entice them to come out a bit earlier, since they take naps so they can stay out later. Old people, like me, have other responsibilities to deal with over the weekend.
I'm looking forward to this time and it should be a blast. Plus people can call me Dr. Doctor afterward.
I'll try and post some more things related to chemistry in the coming weeks, especially as it relates to biochemistry and organic things. Besides for anyone interested in what it's like on the inside of health sciences, this is your chance to ask someone pushing through it.
But before that, let's all enjoy some of Chemistry Cat's wisdom.

Welcome to the Chemistry Help Blog!
Hi All,
This is the future spot that I hope will keep me in touch with my students as they progress through their academic careers. I want you to feel free to email me or post comments about any questions you have with chemistry or science.
As most of you know I will start into the D.M.D. program at the University of Kentucky in the fall of 2011. While I will be busy, I hope to be able to respond to questions quickly.
Good luck with your finals and I hope to hear from you soon.
